Default Changing the commentary font size in WORD 2013 to a larger one

Greetings All,
I am having a problem trying to change the text size in the comments “balloons”. It has a default setting of 10 and is difficult to read.
I have looked at several webpages that suggest how to change the text size and so far I have been unsuccessful when I have followed the instructions I have so far read.
What I have tried up to this point.
First insert the commentary object.
Then go to the Start menu and find the “Formatvorlagen” (I am using the Germany version)... Format template... and click on the arrow on the right hand bottom side. A window appears where you can make all the formatting changes from. On the bottom are three buttons. The one on the right is the “Manage the Format templates”

I clicked on this and a window appeared with numerous features that can managed. I selected “Commentary Text” and changed the font size to a larger one. I clicked OK on all the windows to save the changes and then tried to type in the commentary balloon. The font size was still size 10. When the template was reopened the font size said 16…what I changed it to. So apparently the program did not recognize the changes that were made.
How do I get Word to recognize the changes?
