My company has just (finally!) moved from Office 2003 to Office 2010. I find when I open a password protected document created in Word 2010 into the older Word 2003, the converted document is still protected but the password is just an empty string, i.e. the user only has to click Tools/Unprotect Document to be able to start editing.
Is there a solution to this?
