This requires nothing more than a simple subtraction. If the time allotted is in A1 and the time used is in A2, the time remaining requires nothing more than:
=A1-A2
in whatever cell you want to display the result in. Excel will automatically display the result in days, hours & minutes. If you have more than 24 hours, format the result cell's display as:
[h]:mm
