Default PNG on black background printing transparency in different tone of black

Hi all.

As per title, I am facing an issue when printing a document from Word. I have a document with a cover page and custom headers and footers. All 3 elements have a company logo on them. The logo is in PNG format so as to allow for transparency of the unused portions of the logo. The header and footer and cover page are standard RGB 000 black background / fill with no line. The png I have set the background / fill to match RGB 000. Onscreen it's perfect. Converting to PDF and opening the PDF, also good. But printing from Word or PDF gives me a logo on a more opaque black than the background.

Sorry for the image quality, but I think you can make out the different tones I am talking about, even though I have the same RGB. I even tried replacing the png with a jpg where I filled the transparency with RGB black 000 and still got the same result. Seems that the image is always printing in a box with a different tone.

Any ideas?
