Unhappy Not just Contacts, everything!

I'm in the same boat. But I have also lost my calendar entries and all my e-mails for my main account.

I changed ISP's a while ago, and after allowing for the change-over, decided to remove the old e-mail account as all it was getting was spam. I made my new e-mail account primary, and things worked OK. Then I removed my old e-mail account. Not that I didn't kill off the old e-mail data entry. Also note that Outlook would not let me choose my new account as primary for data, only for e-mail. I then added a new e-mail account to be used for a special purpose, but it was not primary.

When I went to send out e-mail, I discovered that I had no addresses in my address book. Contacts were likewise empty. I tried adding back the old e-mail account in hopes that the data was there but just unconnected (I noticed that the address book is associated with an e-mail address, but you don't see that connection in Contacts - I have no idea why addresses are not a unique entity.) Anyway, after adding back the old account, Outlook updated the inbox with around 100 messages, as I guessed it would. The next thing I know is that my primary account e-mails have been overlaid with the junk from the old account and were lost. I actually could watch it occur as the messages were automatically copied from that old account to the new one before I could stop it.

So what gives, Microsoft? Is there ANY way to recover? I do have a backup from about a week ago. Can I get my stuff back from there, or am I just SOL? Do my Calendar/Contacts/e-mails still exist in some form? Thanks for any directions you can give, to us.
