Replacing/adding registry keys/sub-keys for an incompatible application doesn't change the fact that it's incompatible. Aside from the fact the incompatibility goes far deeper than just a few registry entries, all "successfully" installing Office 2000 may achieve is introducing other faults into an otherwise stable system.
