Default Suspected Document corruption

Charles,

I appreciate your patience and guidance. You are performing a wonderful service.

The problem of the unwanted lines was inadvertent unintended display of gridlines.

I printed out your tutorial on Document Corruption for future possible needs.

THANK YOU!!!

It has been many years since I last used Word 2000. I still use Word 2003 from time to time and have Word 97 on my computer.

Is Word the only program where this is showing up? What about your internet browser?

Word is the only program where this is happening.

Do these show up in draft view?

I don't have that view option under View menu

If what you have is a check pattern, I suspect gridlines. The control for display of these is on the Drawing Toolbar under Draw > Grid. Uncheck the box to display gridlines on screen.

Bingo! This solved the problem of the check pattern (horizontal lines at 100% scale)

What happens if you increase or change the space between lines or paragraphs. Does that change the spacing of the lines you are seeing?

See above solution.
