Hi Mike,

Uninstalling/reinstalling via the Control Panel rarely fixes anything a repair won't fix, which you could do via:
• Word/Excel Options|Resources|Diagnose; or
• Programs & Features > Microsoft Office > Change in the Windows Control Panel.
That's because numerous templates & registry settings are left behind after uninstalling and are not necessarily updated upon reinstalling. For complete removal, you need to use something like Methods 2-4 at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218
