Hello.
I haven't noticed anyone complaining about this issue, but I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help.
Word 2010 seems to be saving previous versions of my documents; it saves the versions that were initially saved - before the document was revised.
Below are two examples:
- Open Word Document
- Delete word "The" from title at top of Word Document
- Click "Save" icon in ribbon to Save Word Document
- Click "Undo" icon in ribbon to to undo recent change and, hence, replace "The" in title at top of Word Document
- Click "Save" icon in ribbon to Save Word Document
- Close Word Document
- Open SAME Word Document
- Note that "The" does not appear in title at top of Word Docment
- Open Word Document
- Add the numeral "2" to end of first line of Word Document
- Click "Save" icon in ribbon to Save Word Document
- Click "Undo" icon in ribbon to undo last action and, hence, remove the numeral "2" from end of first line of Word Document
- Click "Save" icon in ribbon to Save Word Document
- Close Word Document
- Open SAME Word Document
- Note that numeral "2" still appears at end of first line in Word Document
So, as you can see from my above examples, Word is not saving the most current version of the document, even after clicking the "Save" icon in the ribbon. Instead, it keeps previously saved versions and returns those, even after saving subsequent changes.
I'm losing a lot of hair over this problem.
Advice, anyone?
