Perhaps OP has become used to something like the Comments pane in Acrobat :-} there's a difference between being able to step through – which is always useful, of course – and being able to get an overview.

If I'm in Word, I tend to put comments in as separate paragraphs with their own style and set up a custom ToC for the overview; but this is an exception in my daily work.
