I found the one entry, removed it, but it didn't fix the problem

I even closed the file & re-opened & nothing.

No harm done I will focus on explaining things a little better in the future. Are you able to post a sample of your workbook? I have looked at several topics from Microsoft on this and can not see why the auto complete would behave that way. I think with a sample worksheet I can help you figure it out.
