Lightbulb extend selection with F8 - a hint

According to a popular reference guide for the uninformed …
Quote:
After pressing the F8 key, you can use the Find command to locate a specific bit of text. Word marks all text between the spot where F8 was pressed (the anchor) and the text that the Find command locates.
Frustratingly enough, it seemed my installation of Word 2010 hadn't read that book. I tried both with ctrl+F and with ctrl+H for find, without success. Then, "prompted by a private whim", I clicked F8 to set an anchor and simply typed. Aha! The selection obligingly extended itself from the anchor to the first occurrence of what I'd typed in. This seems worth sharing :-}
