Default Can I display BOTH pop3 and IMAP accounts in one email inbox? (Grrr!) :)

Hi,
Following a format (isn't it always!) I've reinstalled outlook 2010 on my windows 7, but behaviour of email is different from previously. I have 2 email accounts one is personal pop3 (my own domain name), the other is gmail and now set up as IMAP.
I would like both of these accounts to display mail in the same 'personal folders' > 'inbox' in outlook, but they don't. My pop3 goes to my personal folders ok, but the IMAP has set up a separate gmail folder distinct from my personal folder. How do I get my gmail to go to the same folder as my pop3, so that I can see ALL my incoming emails in one display? (The gmail syncronising is a real pain too. Is this because it's IMAP, can I use it as pop3?)
Thanks for any advice offered. I know this must seem sooo basic to many of you, but I only get to do it when I format and forget it in the meantime! (Once every couple of years!)
Cheers,
Peter
