Default Placing the same object/picture on all pages but on alternative (mirror position) -

Help! I hope anyone can give me some guidance in this matter - I kept struggling with this issue in Word 2007, and I simply cannot figure it out -

So, I am working on a book and I want create side tabs which mark each page of each section -

The sections side tabs (each section same content) are easy to make via Insert Object from callouts, and are also easy to get each one the desired color - but after this appears a problem -

Here's how I tried to do this, and is quite cumbersome -
So place the first tab at the top right on the first odd page -
Then (since the book will be printed as mirror image), I place on the second page the mirror image of the first tab, in such a manner that at the printing moment the two images will perfectly overlap -

But as I said, the process is very time consuming, and unsatisfactory -
So I am wondering whether Word has somewhere hidden the ability of inserting pictures on alternative pages, on alternative, mirror positions -
Or what would be other options to achieve this feat -

I would appreciate an answer -
