Using Win 7 32bit and Word 2010, IE9

Any ideas on this?

In a Word 2010 document, when I create a hyperlink either as text or an image with the symbol # included in the address, if I Ctrl/click on the link the # is replaced with %20-%20, which of course is not in the address and so fails to open the right page.

Creating a PDF with the same information works fine.
