I see. Well, what I was getting at, was using the formatting possibilities in the data source application to determine the data to be inserted. I regret that I am a novice in VBA programming (Word's language), so I don't know how to write a field that would do what you want. I suspect that it can be done with something called switches, which can operate somewhat like conditional formatting, but I don't know for sure. If you do get a solution, I'd love to see it.
