I don't have 2013 in front of me at the moment so I'm not quite sure here that this still applies.
But, in 2010 they changed the zoom effect and it doesn't include zoom in ... however there is ALSO a Basic Zoom effect which is in fact the original style zoom! If you are asking "Is this pretty silly of Microsoft?" I agree!
