Print Preview incorrect
How can it be that Print Preview shows me one thing and prints differently?
I’m trying to print a document using a background color with a Fill Pattern. The back ground color prints but the wrong Horizontal Fill Pattern is sent to the printer.
I am using MS Word 2007 [12.0.6668.5000]. I clicked on Insert > Text Box > Draw Text box. Text Box Tools came-up. I drew a text box and set the size of the Text Box to be the same size as the page size, 11 x 8.5. I used the Arrange feature to align the text box to the left top of the page. I clicked Send to back. Next I selected a color and gradient. I pointed at Shape Fill - More Fill Colors > Custom. Then I selected a Gradient with Fill Effects by pointing to Gradient > More Gradients > Fill Effects. Uner Fill Effects I checked Color - One, and Shading Style – Horizontal, and I clicked on a sample variant pattern. In a window on the bottom right of the screen, I saw the Sample and I clicked OK. My document apppeared on the screen with the back ground I wanted.
I went to Word Options, and under Printing Options made sure Print back ground colors and images was checked. Next I clicked on Print Preview. The back ground I selected was displayed. I clicked Save As Test 1 and Doc format. Then I sent the file to the printer and the wrong Gradient filter was printed.
How come?
