There are a lot of books out there. I would recommend going to a bookstore and looking through them individually. I usually go for an intermediate book, even if I am just learning. Most "newbie" books go through the basics of cut, copy, saving, printing, etc. I would say about half of the book is useless for anyone who knows how to use a computer. Your cheapest way would be to check it out at the local library. It is free and you can learn what you need to. If you do want to purchase a book, I would go online once you find a title you like and try to get the best price. Check e-bay for used books.
