Hi crescere,

I think you need to learn how to use Word as it is designed to be used. A fundamental aspect of this is the use of Styles, as every paragraph in a document will have a Style attached to it. Word has worked this way for well over 20 years. The fact you "think Word 2010 has become so complicated to use" is probably because you've never taken the time to learn the basics. In most respects, Word 2010 is no more complicated to use than earlier versions. Indeed, little has changed from it's immediate predecessor, Word 2007. Sure, the Ribbon requires some re-learning, but it doesn't make things 'more complicated'. And, for tasks that can be done by typing in the document and/or via shortcut keys and the like, it's much the same as before.

As to your immediate problem, updating a paragraph Style will update the formatting of all paragraphs based on that Style. There are various ways you can do this, but perhaps the simplest is to change the format of the paragraph concerned, then right-click on it, choose Styles>Update (stylename) to match selection. Do be aware, though, that if you've been overriding the Style definitions with other paragraph layouts, the paragraphs with the overridden definitions are liable update as well. Such problems would be avoided if you used Styles properly from the outset, with separate Styles for each of the required paragraph formats.
