Default Text Boxes or Template

Hi,

Ok, so I'm doing this letter for a client & I've never done text box work in Word before, but she said to use it. There's an image in her letter that needs to be recreated.

I figured out most of what I needed to do, but I have a few questions:

  1. Someone mentioned templates. When would someone use a template vs. a text box?

I think this letter will go out again several times, so is a template a better option or I have to make the image into a text box anyway & then use a template?
  2. I got the logo in there, but how do you move it around so I get it where I want to? Same with the text on 3 of the lines, how can I move it around?

How can I make the logo smaller, or do I have to do that in another program & then insert it into the text box?

She had a black background & white text. I found the background color & it made the background black, but it didn't make the entire background black. Is that b/c I have 2 text boxes within the large squared area?

Where the text is, that area's background is white, so that's not working. When I tried to make the text white, of course you couldn't see it so I removed that.
  3. I can't figure out how to insert short vertical or horizontal lines. I tried to drag the line shape from the toolbar, but it didn't work. I couldn't see the line once I expanded it vertically. I even double clicked & then made it white thinking that was the issue, but nothing.
  4. Also off topic, how does one move the footer down further. It's default is always to be high up from the end of the page, but I need more space. When I tried to go into the footer & put a blank line it, it moved the signature down onto a 2nd page.
  5. If anyone has a gig on Fiverr, please let me know. I really prefer that someone walk me thru this via the phone & I looked on there, & there's very few Word experts. Most are like me, they just know the basics.

    Thanks

    Michelle
