Since it isn't possible to have a table in a document without also having a paragraph (empty or otherise) that follows the table, I can't see what the cutting & pasting is supposed to achieve - one can simply type into the paragraph that's already there.

Similarly, deleting the new row won't work - you'll lose whatever you typed into it. You'd have to split the new row from the rest of the table, then convert the new one-row table to text.

Ultimately, both approaches are very round-about ways of solving a problem that doesn't really exist.
