That is not much info to go on, but...

If the picture was created in a program other than MSWord, it is not likely that you would be able to edit the picture. For example, if it was created in PowerPoint, Visio or other software and saved as a .jpeg, then imported or copied/pasted into MSWord, you would have to modify the 'original' file and reinsert into Word.
