A few posts up you said "... then click on any footnote for editing ..." That's all very well
if the Footnotes are actually visible on the screen for you to actually click on one.
If they are
not visible, you can
make them visible by clicking on "Show notes" in the "References" ribbon.
Then you can go ahead and click on it to reveal options box to edit the Footnote separater.
