Default Word 2007 won't HTML merge

Hi everyone,

My apologies if I'm annoying anyone with old questions but I can't find an actual solution to this problem (here or anywhere) and I am going out of my mind here.

All I want to do is merge my excel data to an html email. Like everyone else with this problem, nothing happens. No emails appear in my outbox. It's more than willing to do the merge if I choose 'plain text' but does absolutely nothing (no error messages, just nothing) if I choose 'html'.

I've been all over the internet for the last 9 hours trying to solve my problem, and none of the offered solutions has worked.

Anyone got any new ideas? Or old ones even....
