Default Insert Caption for List of Tables

I'm creating for a list of figures and a list of tables for a report and would like to use the "Insert Table of Figures" command along with "Insert Caption" to do this. I am able to do exactly what I want minus one important detail: Word will not allow me to use my own naming convention.

The document is divided up into sections (1 Project Objective, 2 Project Summary, 3 Model Detials, etc) and my tables and figures are named according to what section they are in. For example, the fifth figure in section three would be: Figure 5.3. The first table in section 2.1 would be: Table 2.1.1.

When using the "Insert Caption" command, MS Word puts a default title in the "Caption:" field (see image) that cannot be deleted. This breaks my naming convention. Is there anyway I can override this so that I can put whatever I'd like in the "Caption:" field?
