Did older versons of Word (Post 2010) upon openning could you have a prompt to select only a template from a predetermined location / folder or alternatively a blank document?

My obvious next question would be, can you force word to ask the user to select a template without having to go to Office icon>New>My Templates

Is this a pre deployment option?
