Default Edit Points in Curve: MS Office changes points properties itself, without my action.

I try to draw a complex curve in Office 2010 using "Edit Points". Complex means more than 5 points, each point configured separately by clicking it, dragging it to necessary location, selecting transition type (Smooth, Straight or Corner), and dragging the "rays" to obtain the necessary curve form.

Then I either drag a point or insert another point.

What does OpenOffice do in this case? It inserts or drags a point. Ready.

What does MS Office do? It inserts or drags the point, and then CHANGES THE PROPERTIES OF BOTH NEIGHBOUR POINTS, so that the curve looks nice and smoothy in the opinion of MS Office. It (the office) doesn't care that the user intentionally draws smth different.

WTF? Is there a way to turn this buggy feature off?

Best regards,

PS: I would have gladly used OpenOffice, since comparing to MS it reacts exactly as the user tells, no more no less. Unfortunately I'm forced to use MS Office for presentations, since it is a standard application in the institution where I work. Any help would be very much appreciated.
