Default Hwo to insert text of a different font by default

IN MS Word 2010 - I have text formatted in Times Roman font already in the document (which someone else wrote)- how do I set it so that when I type into the document between existing Times Roman words that it'll default to a different font (so I can easility distinguish between what I inserted and what was there originally from other writer (there are multiple editors and we'd like to be able to distinguish visibly between each). I can do so by formatting the text to a different font after I type, but I'm looking for a way for it to default to the different font (I tried seting the default font to somethin else, but it the insert still went to the font of the surrounding text thx
