Eks.

line one|
line two|
line three|
line four|
line five|

The character needed to insert, is a so called Pipeline character (|)

The document is 2600 pages, so it is not possible to do this manually.

First, it would be possible to do it manually, just painful and time consuming.

Word is a text-reflow word processing program, not a text editor. What are you going to be reading this with?

I suspect that you could do better converting your Word document to plain text and using a text editor.
