Default Index - hyphenated page numbers

I'm experimenting with creating an Index for a book I just wrote, and am pleased with my progress so far.

However, let's say I mark a word that is a common word in a particular chapter, so it appears on practically every page of that chapter.

Is there any way to make the Index display the page numbers for that entry as 125-132 rather than 125, 126, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132?

On that same note, if a particular word seems to be heavily used in a particular part of the book, any way to make it so the index will park those pages in bold? Such as like this:

Word: 12, 47, 93, 95, 125-132, 262, 295

It this stuff I just have to go in and format myself, line-by-line, once I've completed the index? Will it allow my to manually combine page numbers like that?
