Thank You Charles for considering and replying to my post. The docu I'm building is assembly instructions. A picture on the left, copy on the right. From your reply I went back and removed all the breaks I had inserted and uncolumned from 2 to 1. Interestingly enough, after unbreaking and uncolumning, the headers and footers were just as I wished them to be. Then I carefully rebreaked everything to 'column-continuous' and 2 columned each set as I went. Didn't work. After undoing everything again, I put it all back together again as 'text wrap-continuous'. Didn't work. Somehow during all this I discovered I didn't need to insert the breaks myself. By simply hiliting what I wanted columned and and selecting '2 columns', MSW put the breaks in for me. It would be a great learning experience now if I could somehow go back and find out what 'Break' style MSW used. I tried hiliting the break lines but nothing read out anywhere. After adding some carriage returns to adjust where the break lines fell on the page, everything is just fine now. Thanks for the help. K.
