Programming a drag and drop macro is about as complex as it gets. I doubt anyone would be able to explain here how to do it! This is even more so in 2010 where Hans's method doesn't work (I think) and then even even more so if you have 64 bit Office because you will have to learn to work with 64 bit APIs.
We have a
commercial app that will enable drag and drop in 64bit, limited actions on drop and reset the slide back to original locations but it won't do exactly what you need.
You won't be able to edit the code (and I doubt you would understand it)
If it's an important project we would probably be able to make it do what you need but you would need a budget!
