Interesting that, when I insert a pdf object, the resolution seems quite bad, even though there are just vector graphics in it. Is that just a temporary rendering by word that will improve when printed or something, or do inserted pdf's get degraded?

To get around the sharing problem for inserted pics, I'm thinking of "Insert and Link"ing them.
