Please suggest me how to process a column (Conditionally) with the required values only...?

For example, I'm having a column called Exam Status for which I need to get values Y/N only.

Exam Status (Y/N)
--------------------
Y
N
Pass ==> I dont like others to type other than Y / N.
Y
Y
N
