Exclamation Outlook 2010 PST

Here's a 'ripped the hair outta my head and now I need bosley hair treatment' problem.

I am trying to import/add an existing .pst file into outlook 2010. I click File, Click the big account settings button, click account settings from the drop down. The Account settings Window pops up. I click the Data File tab. I click add... BOOM I get an error.

"An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80070002."

I googled every possible text string I could think of to fix it. There was even a promising microsoft "fix it" tool that I ran. No Luck.

So, I figured, well I will just create a brand new PST file and try to import the pst items from the old pst's one at a time into the newly created pst. I go to the home tab, click new items, click more items, and click outlook data file. Another error.

"Can't open file."

Well, I am not trying to open a file. I am trying to create one.

Anyways, I have run all sorts of "Fixes." I have uninstalled and reinstalled office 2010 several times.

There is nothing wrong with the pst files. I can import and open them fine on other machines with windows 7 and XP. I can open them with outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 on other machines. It almost seems to be a permission thing.

Please, does anyone have any idea what is going on?
