Try the Resource Sheet view. You'll find a "Base Calendar" field to assign a resource to a specific base calendar. Generally you should not need to assign task calendars to every task. The Project calendar (defined in Project Information) schedules tasks until you assign resources. Then resource calendars over-ride the project calendar for a specific task.
