Can delete on phone but still dnlds to netbook

Outlook 2007. I have emails coming to my Blackberry. when I delete massages they still download to Outlook 2007. I have looked at the ISP site (ntlworld.com) and deleted emails do not appear, so Outlook is not communicating properly with the ISP but cannot find any settings to fix this.
