When I apply custom animation features (ascend, descend, etc.) to text created in a single text box the playback hangs up.
Yes, Graphic Acceleration features are enabled in the Show Setup menu.
For the sake of comparison I have taken the same text and broken it up, line by line, into individual text boxes which I can then animate, using the same effects, without any problems. Of course, this is prohibitively time consuming when in production mode and trying to produce a prodigious amount of work in a fixed, minimal timeframe.
I have done some research and tried the following fixes:
- Adjusted the display adapter graphic acceleration, both up and down
- Tried lower screen resolution
- Changed print drivers (someone suggested that might have an impact)
- Run the internal PowerPoint diagnostics
- Tried running PowerPoint 2007 as an Administrator
I am experiencing this same issue on multiple computers, with various display adapters, on both laptops and towers, some running WinXP Pro some running Win7.
The exact same file runs flawlessly in PowerPoint 2010 on the same computers. But, because of minor compatibility issues between 2007 and 2010, my client will not allow me to run or modify their files in 2010. Besides, why should I have to? Shouldn't PowerPoint 2007 work properly?
This is a commonly reported issue and I would like to know if there has been a definitive fix.
