To control text wrapping, you'll have to insert a shape instead, via the Insert tab. Click the line format you want. Hold Shift while drawing the line; that way, you can make it vertical. Then right-click the line, and choose More Layout Options on the context menu. Set the Wrapping Style to "Through."
