Hi,

I'm teaching mathematics and have a slide showing how to convert to Standard Index Form.

So I have a number

63000000

And I want to move an arrow which point downwards step-by-step from the right so it eventually ends between the 6 and the 3.

We will count the steps in class to find the power of ten required.

Talk about complicated. I have the first motion path to move one digit, but then it seems to be impossible to duplicate it. Animation Painter doesn't work, nor does copy'n'paste. That duplicates the object (the arrow) too.

Any suggestions? I have manually added them for now, then used motion path tools [http://skp.mvps.org/mptools.htm] to join the front/back of each. Why can't I copy a path without the object? (or can I?)
