Question Why selecting two columns (x and y) for plotting produces two graphs?

Why selecting two columns (x and y) for plotting produces two graphs?
I’m wondering why the default in the Excel is to plot two graphs when two columns are selected.
For example, to plot x versus y as shown in screenshot 1:
1. I selected the two columns (x and y)
2. I selected inset >l ine> stacked line with markers (screenshot 2)
3. I got the graph shown in screenshot 3
My question is:
- Why I got two graphs (the red and the blue one)? I expected to get just one graph
- Whey all the values of the first column do not exist in the output graph?
- Has this behavior been in the Excel 2003?
What I wanted is:
When I select two columns to plot, then I expect to have only one graph and to have all the values of the columns in the two axis (the axis must extend to include the maximum value in each column)
Thank you in advance,
Regards
Jamal
