Why am I getting poor photo quality?
I use PPT 2010 and import photos sized at 1024x768, which is also my projector resolution. When I use my own photos, they look great but when I use photos from the other photographer in the room, they appear lower in quality, ie, not as sharp. We both use Lightroom to convert the photos shot in RAW to JPG.
As a test, I converted 14 photos from his camera on my computer, sized them at 1024x768 and put them in PPT and they look great. The compression setting in PPT is at the default, "Do not compress images" box is left unchecked.
When I put 14 photos that he processed, also at 1024x768, into PPT they look terrible.
The PPT file with my photos is 1.6MB. The file with his photos is only 450kb. That appears to be the problem but why is it happening?
If the photos in both PPTs are the same size and the settings in PPT are the same, why am I getting such a different PPT file size?
The only other variable is that he has cropped some of his photos before converting them to JPGs. However, if the JPG files are all the same - 1024x768 yielding a JPG file of about 250kb each - why are the PPT files so different?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
