Question Does a document need to find original template?

Hi,

I have a problem with getting macros to work across the two PCs I use for editing my Word documents. I created a new Word document on PC1 based on a template which included a couple of macros. Using Dropbox, the .docx file is synchronised with PC2 but the folder that contains the original template is not synchronised. When I edit the document on PC2, the macros are not available (they do not show up in the list of macros).

Does a document need always to be able to 'see' the original template on which it is based in order to have macros available (seems the answer is 'yes')?

Is there a way to embed macros in a document so that a document no longer needs to have any link to the original template?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Kind wishes, Patrick
