W-7; MS Office 2010

Received a file with extension .npp from reliable (creator) source some time back. Source not readily available at this time.

Looked for converter(s) online (via MS Windows File Association), resulted in 4 choices (below) one of which I began downloading (#2; WindowDriver.com). It tried to initiate modification of my HDD (after a supposed security scan which I halted immediately).

Then found 'SpeedyPC Pro' icon on desktop. Click results in W7 warning 'about to modify HD'.

Is it ok to let the installation continue?
