There is no automatic way of doing this.

The nearest you'll get is by creating a two-column table into which the images can go. If you fix the table's column widths (by unchecking the 'Automatically resize to fit contents' option), then Word will re-scale whatever images you paste into the table cells to fit those cells. If you're using landscape and portrait images, the portrait one will be taller than the landscape one, but they'll both be the same (or cell) width.
