Thank you so much for your interest in my problem. It is really bugging me, as I use Excel quite a bit.

To reinstall, I went to the disk that I purchased. I just inserted it, and went through the installation like I did the first time on my old machine. I see that Office 2008 is supposed to work with Lion, but I don't know how to make them like each other. I think my Lion is snacking on my Excel.
