Hi anarita,

What is the definition of a "day" in File > Options, Schedule? There are three places you need to ensure things are in synch:
**Project calendar - the default working time in the Standard Calendar is 08:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00. If your working time is something other than that -- you need to modify the calendar for every working day through the Change Working Time command on the Project tab.
**Default start, default end, hours per day and hours per week setting in File > Options, Schedule.
**Resource calendar definitions - each resource has a calendar which is based upon another calendar. If the resource's calendar is different, this can also cause task dates and times to shift.

My guess is that you have a task which starts at 09:00 on Monday set a duration of 5 days (which equals 40 hours). Add 40 hours to 09:00 on Monday and you get 09:00 on the following Monday. You have started 1 hour into the working day (08:00 - 17:00) so the one hour you've missed on Monday morning has to be continued to the following Monday morning from 08:00 to 09:00.

I hope this helps.

Julie
