The implication from your first post is that you've somehow managed to mess up your PC's file associations, so that it has .doc files associated with Adobe Acrobat. The advice in the link in OTPM's post might therefore be relevant. If it doesn't solve the problem, you could try repairing your Office installation (Help|Detect & Repair).
