Default How to encript PDF attachments

I have emails that are sent to our accountant with PDFs of confidential financial information. I don't want them encripted when the go to her, but after they are sent, I want to encript the attachments in my Sent Box. When I try, Adobe says the file is in use and if I want to save I will have to change the name. Is there a way to encript PDF attachments after they are mailed?
